摘要: Natural resources are limited in quantity, but human demand for them continues to grow. Considering various dimensions of natural resource use to evaluate its use benefits is the foundation for sustainable resource management. The evaluation dimensions include social, economic, and ecological aspects. Additionally, exploring the factors influencing the benefits of resource use can help find ways to enhance the benefits of natural resources use. This paper develops an integrated framework for assessing natural resource use, employing a spatial model from the perspective of systems theory. The evaluation indexes include cultivated land, forest, water, and energy resources. Then, the entropy weight method is used to determine the weights of the selected evaluation indicators, while the gray relational model is applied to measure the strength of the relationship between resource inputs and outputs. By inputting the calculated indicator results into the spatial model, this study assessed the use benefits across various dimensions of natural resources. Finally, we use the Tobit model to analyze the influence of resource use benefits in five dimensions: industrialization, agricultural modernization, urbanization, informationization and greening (referred to as the "IAUIG"). The findings are as follows. (1) Regarding resource categories, the resource agglomeration advantages of cultivated land, forests, and water resources result in higher resource use benefits. However, the resource use benefits in energy-rich areas are relatively low, confirming the "resource curse" hypothesis. (2) The economic benefit of natural resources use aligns the overall level of regional economy, the social benefit matches the population distribution, and the ecological benefit is greatly influenced by the policy orientation. (3) From a spatial perspective, the overall benefits of natural resources use are higher in the southern and eastern regions of China, while lower in the northern and western regions. (4) The use benefits of forest resources, energy resources, and cultivated land resources are negatively affected by the IAUIG indicators. The use benefits of water resources are less affected by the IAUIG indicators. The social and economic benefits are positively influenced by urbanization, and ecological benefits are significantly positively influenced by agricultural modernization and greening.
